Early this morning, a team of JFC enthusiasts, including three members of the Ariva team, assembled outside of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas to participate in Rings of Strength, an event supporting the industry’s charity, Jewelers for Children.
Together, 128 participants walked, ran or biked to raise over $60,000 to support the recipients of JFC’s fundraising efforts, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and National CASA Association.
The first Rings of Strength event, in May 2014, was inspired by “the story of Maggie and Odie—two beautiful children, diagnosed with cancer, who formed a deep bond that was illustrated by a ring of strength that Maggie gave to Odie during his fight for life. When Odie passed away in 2011, his mother returned the ring to Maggie so that she could continue to be strong in her own battle with cancer.” (http://ringsofstrength.org/) The annual event reminds us all of the importance of generosity and compassion for children in the face of catastrophic illness or circumstance.
